Oliver, a little android guy, walks towards a temple with a letter in hand. The world is being slowly torn apart, big chunks of debris floating in the air.

I know you prefer to maintain a distance between yourself and others, so if my correspondence is unwelcome, I apologise.

But as the earth crumbles away around us, this world grows lonely.

We may be the only beings left on this planet.

Are you well? The end of a world is a lonely thing, and we have very little time left.

A weeping elven lady, Aster, reads the letter, surprised. She's shown penning a letter of her own with a quill.

Oliver,

I am well. I may be bound to this planet, but those I cherish are long gone.

They will be safe, and that will have to be enough.

I appreciate your kindness in thinking to write to me, but why are you still here?

Not that I'm complaining - you're right, it is... lonely.

I never dreamed the world could feel so hollow as it does now.

Oliver recieves this letter, and writes a reply.

I'm glad to hear you're well- your name is Aster, then? I didn't realise. It's a lovely name.

And I am as bound to this place as you are. I was abandoned a long time ago, and have no means to leave on my own.

Besides that, this is my home. I don't know that I would want to leave, even if I could.

Aster reads this letter with a smile, tears still welling in her eyes.

Oliver,

I have many epithets, but Aster is the one which rings truest... it was given to me by someone I hold very close to my heart. I'm glad you like it.

It seems we're both stuck here, then. From the sounds of it, the both of us have endured heartbreak enough for several lifetimes...

And now here we are, watching as our world falls apart.

Aster

Oliver reads with a frown, ground lifting and falling apart around him.

He hands his final note to Aster in-person this time.

I'm afraid.
